A Little Background…  I set out to create a non-traditional accident and injury law firm unlike any other in Memphis, Tennessee or Mississippi.  

 Here’s a not-so-well kept secret that most of my friends, family and clients know. I never thought I’d become a personal injury and accident attorney, even when I was in law school. However, after seeing people who had suffered devastating and life-changing injuries I knew I needed to help. That’s why I threw myself into trying to become the best possible lawyer I could be in order to help others get a little piece of their lives back.

While other personal injury or accident lawyers here in Memphis or the surrounding areas in Tennessee and Mississippi may take on any accident case that walks in the door, I have very strict policies regarding the types of cases we will take on. My personal viewpoint is that I will not take any case or new client unless I feel there was truly severe and gross negligence that occurred by the person causing the injury or accident.

So, please call my office if you’ve suffered major injuries and damages, but don’t even pick up the phone or email me if you have an issue where you slipped off a curb or bumped your head on a door. By working only with people who have suffered major life changing injuries we are able to better serve them and work on their cases to help them recover as much as possible. Using my experience in prior positions, I formed the Ferrell Law Firm in 2006.  I took what I had learned, created my own best practices and left behind what simply didn’t work. We are very different from other law firms in two distinct ways:

1. Your Accident or Injury Case is About You, Not the Lawyer: It doesn’t matter how many families I have helped, or how many degrees I have.  It doesn’t matter how much I know about the laws in Mississippi or Tennessee.  In the long run, I’m not the one who has to live with your injuries and pain … you are. Some Memphis lawyers feel that they need to impress their clients with how smart they are, or pressure them into one-size-fits-all plans.  My job is to listen to you, truly listen to you, and use my experience to help guide you to the right direction for you and your family. 
2. We Make It Easy For You: As a father I understand firsthand how busy working families can be, and that it can be a struggle to put your own needs ahead of your kids, your family, your clients and your customers. The reality is that many of my clients put off going to see an accident or injury lawyer because they either hope that they are just going to get better and don’t won’t to have to “sue” anyone, or they believe that they can settle their case on their own. I can not tell you the number of times I’ve spoken with a new client who walks through my doors and admits sheepishly, “James, I’ve been trying to work with the insurance company and it’s adjusters but they keep dragging my case out and I don’t know what to do.” But they’re definitely not alone in feeling like they’ve been hung out to dry by the insurance companies. Because that’s what insurance companies do, they want to drag things along in hopes that you’ll eventually just give up – and then they won’t have to pay you anything. We’ll help you understand the process and procedures that occur in personal injury and accident cases. And we will be there to let you know what needs to be done.
